Traffic Calming Makes Me Angry

Nothing makes this internet superstar more angry than traffic calming. For those who already know our GREAT LEADERS in council whats-it decided that we required traffic calming.

The obvious problem with this line of thought is that there isn't much traffic to calm. But that's never stopped any bureaucrat from spending loads of money on 'o's and what not. Now we have what are probably the largest 'sleeping policemen' in the country AND to make the situation better is that they put them on a bend and too close to a junction.

So if you're like me I would have thought "hey, is it really smart to make people drive on the wrong side of the road on a bend? No, I don't think it is", but alas, this wasn't in their mind frame so they did it regardless. The other one is too close to a junction in to my road, so if you're coming from the 'otherside' then you not only need to go past this calming measure on the wrong side, but you have to stay there to be able to make the turn without loss of life and property.

But the even more amusing factor is that the road is more dangerous now, people don't quite get the point that if you're in their path on this stupid calming measure and they're speeding at you like a psychopath, that they, not you are in the wrong. And today I got that from some old woman who was shouting at me pointlessly, I did the legal thing and entered it properly but she was doing double the speed limit and nearly smashed in to me. In hindsight I should have let her and sued the shit out of her children's inheritance (after cleaning out her insurance company).
